About Me

I am a preparator at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. I help museums create welcoming spaces for all visitors and I facilitate museum experiences through the installation and safe transportation of artwork. Through my passion for showcasing diverse narratives in art and art history, I hope to make the art museum world a more equitable landscape. I hold an MA in Museum Studies from Indiana University - Purdue University, Indianapolis. My coursework in the program  focused on curatorial practices including looking critically

and thinking critically about museums, objects, and their impacts on the community. Additionally, I have a background in the fine arts with a BFA in Furniture Design from Herron School of Art & Design.

Mission

My purpose is to create positive human experiences through interactions with art. I aim to achieve this goal by cultivating welcoming museum spaces that express a variety of narratives in celebration of diversity.

Vision

I will become a leader in the museum field by creating innovative exhibitions and programming that promote the voices of those who have been unheard and underserved for too long. Through continued work towards cultural literacy, I will examine the structures that have created the modern art museum world and develop strategies that challenge the system to better reflect the values of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. As a curator at an art museum, I will lead the conversation about collecting and exhibiting art and artists into the new age where a variety of perspectives and lived experiences are valued.
